Kenya Safari Holiday Preparation Checklist
1. Visa:-
Before planning a trip to Kenya, you need to plan you time of stay in Kenya and hence a need to know more information about your visa requirements. The following are the countries with visa free to Kenya:-
Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Brunei, Burundi, Cyprus, Dar es salam, Dominica, Fiji Island, Ghana, Grenada, Jamaica, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia (for less than 30 day stay), Maldives, Mauritius, Namibia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Samoa, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa (for less than 30 day stay), St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Swaziland, Tanzania, The Bahamas, Trinidad, Tobago, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia & Zimbabwe
All visitors who require a Kenya Visa and who are arriving on or after 1 September 2015 can now apply online for the new E-Visa.
Kenya requires visitors to have a document that is valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter the country.
E-Visas will normally be issued in less than 3 days but we recommend that Online Applications should be made at least 7 working days prior to travel to give time for the application process to be completed. Please note that Single Entry Visas are valid only for 90 days after date of issue, so you should not apply until less than 90 days before date of arrival in Kenya

2. Medication:–
Kenya is situated in a different location zone and hence you should know there might be some change of weather and should call for some prevention and need of medication.
Some countries, including Australia, Bahrain, China, Dubai, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Oman, Rwanda, Seychelles, Singapore, Tanzania, Thailand and Uganda require arriving visitors from Kenya or elsewhere in East Africa to have a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate. So if you are travelling to one of these countries after a stay in Kenya then you need to have a Yellow Fever certificate.
The other recommended vaccinations are Typhoid, Hepatitis and Polio, and anti-malarial medication is essential.
Anti-malarial drugs should be taken prior to arrival, please seek medical advice. It is also advisable to try and avoid mosquito bites by using repellent and by wearing suitable cover-up clothes in the evening.
It is a mandatory requirement that all our clients travelling to Africa should have comprehensive travel insurance which includes cover for medical treatment and emergency air evacuation.
3. Currency :-

All the major Credit cards are widely accepted in the city hotels, city restaurants and city shops but this may not be the case in the rural areas. A commission charge is normally added to any transactions using a credit card.
The smaller safari lodges and camps or rural hotels may not all accept credit cards and where they do, they may give an unfavourable exchange rate or add a surcharge, so it is recommended that you have USD cash that you can exchange if required to into local currency which you may need on safari
Please note that due to the number of fake notes in circulation, no US Dollar bills printed before 2003 are accepted in Kenya and, in fact, your safest bet is to carry notes printed after 2006.
4. Flights:-
Kenya is considered as the getaway to Africa. Recently on 2017, Kenyas International Airport, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Kenya Airways (National Kenyan Courier) was awarded access to the USA Air space to be landing at the John F. Kennedy International Airport starting on 20th Oct 2018. Kenya Airways was ranked No. One in Africa in terms of service delivery and best flights in Africa.

5. Destinations:-

6. Languages:-
The National Language in Kenya is Swahili and English. Most of the places you will visit or people you will interact with are familiar with Swahili and English and best to communicate.
It doesn’t mean there will be problems from other language speakers, when visiting Kenya, always seek for a translator and who is familiar to your language. Seek more advise from your travel company to help you with a translator.
Access Airports:- Kenya has 3 International Airport, the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (Nairobi City Capital City of Kenya), Moi International Airport (Mombasa, Coastal Airport) and Kisumu International Airport (Kisumu Region). Most flights always Land to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and when there are flights delays or emergencies, flights are always diverted to Moi International Airport on notice.
