Overview
- 3 Days 2 Nights Bwindi Impenetrable Park Gorilla Trekking Safari
- Bwindi Gorilla Tracking Safari Tour : track – and closely observe – endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
- Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is the best place in Uganda to track mountain gorillas. The park protects half the world’s population and has several habituated groups. The forest is also a birdwatcher’s paradise- with 350 species recorded, including many Albertine Rift endemics.
- On the this Gorilla Tracking Safari we take you on adventure through the misty thick jungles of Afirica’s most diverse forest, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest situated along the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) border next to the Virunga National Park and on the edge of the Albertine Rift trekking the endangered Mountain Gorillas and their families.
Important Information
- Best time for Bwindi Gorilla Trekking
Rainfall is the main factor to consider when deciding the best time for gorilla tracking. Heavy rains result in slippery and challenging hiking trails. It can rain at any time of the year, but the time periods of June to August and December to January have less rain and are thereby considered the best time to go. The park stays open throughout the year. - Departure Point

Our Guide will warmly welcome you on arrival at Entebbe International Airport or at your hotel in Entebbe/Kampala. For the former, you will be transferred to your hotel where you will be briefed about you safari by the guide. Depending on the time of arrival you are advised to have your money changed on this day, and you may also have the chance to visit Kampala city, about one hour drive from Entebbe.

Depart from Kampala early morning and proceed south-west. Have a stopover at the Equator where we will have an opportunity to stand in 2 hemispheres at the same time. The drive takes us through savannah grasslands seeing banana plantations and herds of Long-horned Ankole cattle with their incredibly long curved horns. Then we ascend into the Kigezi highlands, known as the “Switzerland of Africa”, with terraced farming and mountain scenery to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
We will head to the briefing point at the park headquarters and from here you will be briefed about the do’s and don’ts while in the jungle forest with the gentle Giants. You will be provided with walking sticks and you are also advised to have your lunch parked with enough drinking water. The Gorillas share with us humans 95% of their genes and starring into their pondering eyes is as overwhelming as it is awesome.
After After Gorilla Trekking, we will travel back to our lodge, relax, dine and overnight.
End of Safari and back to Kampala
Have a stopover at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers where we will have the opportunity to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through the generations.
