Tarangire National Park

Tarangire takes its name from the river that runs across the park, which is also the primary source of water for the mammals and birds that live in the National Park during the dry season. Normally a quick stop-off point for those on their way to the Ngorongoro Crater or Serengeti, we think that Tarangire is worth a trip in its own right.

Tarangire National Park Safari

The terrain in the area makes it ideal for game spotting, especially for those who have packed their binoculars. You can expect to see herds of up to three hundred elephants as well as the Big Five, on top of masses of zebra, buffalo and impala. Cheetah Safaris suggest going during the dry season when the lake is populated with animals looking for a place to get a drink and cool down in the heat.

Not only is there an extensive range of game to spot, but the views of the Masai Steppe and mountains towards the south make the Tarangire National Park an experience that can’t be missed.
