About Asilia Sayari Camp
Asilia Sayari Camp is owned and operated by Asilia Africa and is an amazing property in the Kogatende region of the Serengeti National Park. The camp is a luxurious safari retreat in Tanzania. It has amazing wildlife sightings especially of the great wildebeest migration with its strategically position near the Mara river. The mara river happens to be between the Serengeti and Maasai mara. Get to see the herds plunging into the water.
The camp also happens to have an onsite microbrewery which produces 4 unique beers.
Best times to visit:
June to September – A good time to witness the wildebeest migration as they cross the Mara River and see as crocodiles and big cats prey on the herds.
October to January – You witness the last river crossings. This period experiences short raits beginning late October which attracts migratory birds from all over Europe and Asia.
February to May – The weather offers great wildlife viewing opportunities as there are sunny days with occasional short showers in the afternoon. The heavy rains begin late March all through April and May. At this point the camp usually closes and opens up in June for the river crossing of the wildebeest and zebras.
ACCESS & LOCATION of Asilia Sayari Camp
The place can be accessed by both road and air.
There are flights to the nearest airstrip Kogatende airstrip. From Arusha it typically takes 1 to 1.5 hours. after there a short 15 to 20 minutes drive.
By road from Arusha it takes about 8 to 9 hours depending on weather and road conditions.
For the guests already within the Serengeti transfers to Sayari Camp can be arranged.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT Asilia Sayari Camp
The camp features 15 tented suites which include a honeymooner’s suite. They are all raised on wooden decking. They are made of mahogany flooring and king or twin beds. They consist of luxurious bathrooms that feature walk-in showers, free standing tubs that overlook the savannah landscape and a private outdoor shower on the deck, flushable toilet, and twin washbasins.
The honeymoon suite is slightly different in that it has a four-poster bed, a secluded outdoor bathtub and a spacious veranda.
If it’s for family or a group up to two beds can be added in a tent or two tents joined together so as to create one spacious tent that can fit up to 8 people. There are however two newly built retreats for big groups and families with each including of a dedicated chef, a host and a private safari guide.
