About Asilia Ubuntu Migration Camp

Asilia Ubuntu Migration camp follows herds of wildebeest as they move around the Serengeti from the fertile south grassland that have wildebeest give birth to the north where the crossing takes place. The tents are designed to leave no trace. This is a warm and authentic mobile camp that gives you a traditional Tanzanian hospitality with amazing views of the Serengeti.

From December to March the camp is located┬а in the Ndutu Area which experiences about 500,000 wildebeest born in the span of just a few weeks. From the end of March the herd starts moving north towards Kogatende in the north of the park in the last couple of weeks, moving through Seronera and Grumeti regions.

How do you Get to Asilia Ubuntu Migration Camp?

The camp is accessible by both air and road on both its seasons.

When in the Northern Serengeti during June to October the nearest airstrip is Kogatende airstrip with flights taking about 1.5 to 2 hours from Arusha Airport and a transfer of around 30 minutes to the camp. By road from Arusha it would take 8 to 10 hours depending on the weather and road conditions. Flying is recommended.

When in South of the Serengeti during November to March the nearest airstrip is Kusini airstrip and flights take 1 to 1.5 hours from Arusha airport with a transfer of 15 to 20 minutes to the camp. and 8 to 10 hours if you chose to travel by road.

What Facilities are at Asilia Ubuntu Migration Camp?

The camp offers 10 safari tents which include a family tent. They have side panels made of mesh to provide the tents with natural light during the day. Each tent has an en-suit bathroom traditionally built with safari-style bucket shower. The camp is 100% solar powered with a backup generator in case of emergencies. There is a child policy for children minimally aged 5. With that for walking safaris being 12.

Some of the activities offered include game drives, hot air balloon safaris and photographic vehicles.
