About Inyati Lodge
Is an intimate, 4-star safari lodge located in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve in South Africa. It is particularly well known for its prime location on the banks of the Sand River, which attracts a high density of wildlife, including the Big Five( lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino).
How do you Get to Inyati Lodge?
The drive from Johannesburg takes about 5.5 to 6 hours (roughly 450 km).
N12/N4 Highway: Take the N12 or N4 east toward Nelspruit (Mbombela).
R40 to Hazy view: From Nelspruit, take the R40 north through White River to Hazy view.
R536 toward Paul Kruger Gate: In Hazy view, turn onto the R536, following signs for the Paul Kruger Gate (Kruger National Park).
Newington Turn-off: After about 32 km on the R536, look for the “Newington Gate” sign on your left.
Gravel Road: Follow this gravel road for about 17 km. You will pass through a local village; continue following the signs for Newington Gate/Sabi Sand.
Into the Reserve: Once through Newington Gate, follow the internal signage for Inyati Game Lodge (approx. 8 km from the gate).
For the quickest and most scenic arrival at Inyati Game Lodge, flying is the preferred option. The lodge is served by several nearby airports, ranging from private bush strips to larger commercial hubs.
The most convenient way to arrive is via a Federal Air shuttle flight directly from OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg.
Destination: Ulusaba Airstrip, located just 10 minutes from Inyati.
Transfer: A lodge ranger will meet you at the airstrip in an open safari vehicle for a complimentary 10-minute transfer to the lodge.
Flight Time: Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
What Facilities are at Inyati Lodge?
Inyati Game Lodge offers an intimate safari experience with just 11 luxury thatched-roof chalets, catering to a maximum of 25 guests. Located in the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve, it provides high-end, all-inclusive accommodation with direct views of the Sand River and surrounding bush.
All chalets are air-conditioned and feature en-suite bathrooms with twin basins, separate baths, and showers.
Luxury Chalets (8 units): These accommodate two adults and can be configured with either extra-length king beds or twin beds. A key feature is the private outdoor shower.
Luxury Family Chalets (3 units): Designed for families, these larger suites include a king-size bed, a double bed, and a single bed.
