San Camp is an intimate and ultra-stylish tented camp set on the edge of Botswana’s vast Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, offering a refined yet deeply immersive desert safari experience. Known for its distinctive white canvas tents and classic 1940s safari design, the camp blends minimalist elegance with the stark beauty of the surrounding wilderness. ACCESS & LOCATION of San Camp
San Camp sits on the edge of Ntwetwe Pan within the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park in north central Botswana. Access is generally by light aircraft to Tsigaro Airstrip, with flights taking approximately 1 hour from Maun or about 1 hour 45 minutes from Kasane. From the airstrip, it is a scenic game drive of around 45 minutes to the camp. Self driving is possible in the dry season for experienced 4×4 travelers, but due to the remoteness and seasonally challenging terrain, most guests opt for the fly in transfer.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT San Camp
The camp features just six luxurious white canvas tents, each set on teak platforms with sweeping views of the pans. The interiors are furnished with four poster beds draped in mosquito netting, Persian rugs, and campaign style antiques that evoke the romance of a bygone era. En-suite bathrooms have flush toilets and hot bucket showers, and private verandas offer space for quiet contemplation. Shared spaces include a central mess tent for communal dining, a tea tent filled with daybeds and cushions, and a shaded yoga and wellness pavilion. San Camp also operates on solar power, reinforcing its eco-conscious ethos, and the absence of Wi-Fi or cell service enhances its sense of escape.

Guided Game Drives
Explore the Makgadikgadi Pans and surrounding grasslands in open safari vehicles, encountering desert adapted wildlife such as oryx, springbok, and brown hyena, as well as seasonal birdlife.
