About Selinda Explorers Camp
Selinda Explorers Camp is a small and exclusive tented camp set on the private 130,000 hectare Selinda Reserve in northern Botswana. It sits on the banks of the Selinda Spillway, a vital waterway that links the Okavango Delta to the Linyanti wetlands. The camp is designed in a classic expedition style reminiscent of early safari pioneers, with canvas tents, campaign furniture, and antique accents, yet it still provides a high level of comfort and attentive service. Its intimate scale, usually hosting only a handful of guests, creates a highly personalized safari experience where the focus is on immersion in nature and flexible activities guided by expert naturalists.
ACCESS & LOCATION of Selinda Explorers Camp
Selinda Explorers Camp is best accessed by air. Guests typically fly into Maun or Kasane, followed by a light aircraft transfer to the Selinda Airstrip, which takes about 50 minutes from Maun or 1 hour 20 minutes from Kasane. From the airstrip, it is roughly a 45 minute game drive to the camp, offering the first taste of wildlife viewing. Road access from towns is extremely limited and time consuming due to the camp’s remote location and private concession setting.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT Selinda Explorers Camp
The camp features just four spacious canvas tents, including one family tent, all set under large ebony and mangosteen trees for shade. Each tent has a comfortable bedroom area with double or twin beds, en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets, and open air bucket showers that are filled with hot water on request. Furnishings include campaign style chests, Persian rugs, and leather chairs, giving the space an authentic explorer feel.
The central mess tent houses the lounge and dining area, where guests gather for meals or afternoon tea. An outdoor fire pit serves as the heart of the camp for pre-dinner drinks and storytelling. The camp runs on solar power, offers excellent fresh meals prepared on-site, and maintains an eco-conscious approach to minimize environmental impact.
