ACCESS & LOCATION of Wilderness Vumbura Plains
Vumbura Plains is located in the Kwedi Concession in the Okavango Delta’s northern region. Access is primarily via light aircraft to Vumbura Airstrip, which takes around 50 minutes from Maun or about 1 hour 45 minutes from Kasane. From the airstrip, it is a short game drive of approximately 15 minutes to the camp. The concession is private, so activities are not limited by the restrictions found in public national parks, allowing for more flexible safari experiences. Due to the remoteness and seasonal flooding, road access from major towns is not practical.

The camp consists of two separate satellite camps, each with its own main lounge, dining, and bar areas, but all under the Vumbura Plains umbrella. Each suite is spacious, with floor to ceiling glass walls that open onto private decks with plunge pools and seating areas. Interiors feature a modern and airy aesthetic with local artwork, luxurious linens, and en-suite bathrooms complete with both indoor and outdoor showers. Solar power provides electricity, and ceiling fans help keep interiors cool.
