About Angama Amboseli
Angama Amboseli is a boutique luxury safari lodge located in the private Kimana Sanctuary, a jewel of conservation land in southern Kenya. It is one of the few sanctuaries that sits at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain, making it a lodge with one of the most dramatic backdrops in East Africa. The sanctuary itself is renowned for its free roaming elephants, particularly the famed “super tuskers” with ivory so long it nearly touches the ground, offering unmatched opportunities for wildlife photography and close encounters.
The lodge is designed to harmonize with its natural surroundings. Its architecture blends clean, modern lines with natural materials like canvas, wood, and stone, while oversized windows and open decks ensure uninterrupted views of the sweeping plains and Kilimanjaro’s snowy peak. The atmosphere is stylish yet unpretentious, creating a sense of warmth and intimacy that fits perfectly with Angama’s “romance of safari” ethos. Guests will also appreciate the lodge’s commitment to conservation and community partnerships, which directly support Kimana Sanctuary and its neighboring Maasai communities.
Unlike busier parks, Kimana offers exclusivity and privacy, allowing guests to enjoy game drives, sundowners, and bush walks without the crowds often found in Amboseli National Park. This creates an environment where the pace is slower, encounters are more personal, and the overall experience feels deeply immersive. It is a place not just for seeing wildlife, but for savoring a connection with the land and the iconic heritage of East Africa.
