Crater Lake Tented Camp Naivasha is the heart of what the Kenyan settlers called “Happy Valley”, that lush oasis where the early European farmers forged their first links with the African soil. Today, the fine living of that elegant era has been recreated in this luxurious tented camp on the shores of Crater Lake, Crater Lake Tented Camp.
The spacious eleven tents sit in secluded clearings in the lakeside forest with sweeping views over the flamingo-lined waters. Each tent has a giant four-poster bed, the finest furniture, and an ensuite bathroom with a piping-hot shower. The new ‘honeymoon tent’ or the “Clouds” offers a sumptuous bedroom and a deep sunken double jacuzzi overlooking the lake through a giant stained-glass window.

At Crater Lake Tented Camp & Game Sanctuary, you’ll be 13.8 km (8.5 mi) from Lake Naivasha and 15.4 km (9.6 mi) from Hell’s Gate National Park. Highlights at this tent include a restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool, and a free continental breakfast. .
Enjoy access to a safari, a wildlife and game drive, and game viewing. The event facilities are 50 square feet (5 square meters), including a meeting room and conference space. Set on the shores of the deep volcanic lake southeast of Lake Naivasha, The Crater Lake Camp fits easily into this natural paradise. ln keeping with its owner’s conservation ethic, the ten tented bandas have been built entirely from their environs, with pillars and stairways of finely carved acacia set on foundations inlaid with chunks of glinting obsidian.
Each tent occupies its clearing, with a secluded verandah offering spectacular views across the lake.
The tents are a picture of rustic sophistication, with elegant four-poster beds and reproduction furniture combined with modern ensuite bathrooms in a charming, comfortable blend of old and new. Five of the tents at Crater Lake Camp have single beds and five doubles; two are solid bandas, with bunk beds available for children.
