ACCESS & LOCATION of Emboo River Camp
Emboo River Camp, nestled in the heart of Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve, offers an unparalleled eco-luxury safari experience. Glide silently through the savanna on electric game drives, the first of their kind in East Africa.
The flight from Nairobi to Emboo River Camp takes about 45 minutes. Our Safari team will be ready to greet you at Olkiombo airstrip, just 10 minutes from the camp—less travel time means more game time!
The drive from Nairobi to Masai Mara Emboo Camp takes 5 – 6 hours depending on the stops you enjoy along the way. You’ll cruise on a smooth paved road until you reach the Sekenani Gate of the Maasai Mara.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT Emboo River Camp
Emboo River Camp consists of over 10 comfortable stylish en suite safari tents all with a view of Talek River. The camp offers king twin, doubles, individual beds (single), and family rooming options.
Emboo River Camp has three different room styles being: 6 River Rooms, 1 River Suite Bella’s Tree, and 1 River Suite Firefly. The River Rooms have a beautiful luxurious setup with all conveniences. The River Suites are more spacious and have a slightly different design.
All guest rooms overlook the river. Every guest room has an en suite bathroom that includes a sink, a toilet, and a rain shower. There is running and hot water 24/7 thanks to solar heaters.
Solar panels provide Emboo River with electricity at any time of the day and night. International plugs are available in the main areas and guest rooms.
ACTIVITIES AT Emboo River Camp
Game drives
We run game drives twice a day, around dawn and dusk when animals are more active. As we are in a private conservancy, we can drive off-road to get a closer look when we spot something in the bush. We are also able to drive after dark, which means better chances of spotting nocturnal animals.
Cultural and community visits
Most of our guides are from the local area and are more than happy to talk about their culture with guests. We can organize visits to local villages to extend that learning opportunity.
Hot-air balloon rides
As dawn breaks, glide over the Masai Mara National Reserve in a hot-air balloon and watch the landscape change color beneath you. Hot-air balloon excursions are not to be missed, especially if you’re celebrating a special occasion. Balloon flights are at an additional cost and are subject to weather conditions.
Night drives
A night safari gives travelers the chance to see nocturnal animals in action. Our vehicles are equipped with special spotlights so you can have the thrill of watching predators such as lions, leopards, and caracals as they stalk their prey.
