Finch Hattons Luxury Camp is located within Tsavo West National Park one of Kenya’s oldest and largest national parks, covering a vast 9,000 square kilometers. Named after Denys Finch Hatton, the legendary British aristocrat and safari enthusiast, the camp was established in the 1990s to provide a luxurious yet authentic safari experience, inspired by the romance of 1920s exploration in East Africa. The camp operates with minimal environmental impact, using solar energy and eco-friendly waste systems and collaborates with local communities to promote wildlife conservation and cultural preservation.
The camp is situated in a prime spot for wildlife viewing, you can spot the Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo), alongside hippos, crocodiles, and rare species like the gerenuk and fringed-eared oryx. The park also boasts over 500 bird species, making it a haven for birdwatchers. The Mzima Springs, a series of crystal-clear pools teeming with fish and frequented by hippos and crocodiles, are a major highlight near the camp.
