By Road
The lodge is about 6 to 7 hours from Arusha, passing through Mto wa Mbu and Ngorongoro Crater. The last stretch is a game drive through the Serengeti, making the journey an adventure in itself.
By Air
A 1 hour flight from Arusha to Ndutu Airstrip, followed by a 45 minute game drive to the lodge.
Lake Masek Tented Lodge offers luxurious tented accommodations that blend seamlessly with the surrounding wilderness while providing guests with comfort and exclusivity. Each spacious tent is elevated on wooden platforms, offering panoramic views of Lake Masek and the expansive Serengeti plains. The tents are designed with eco-friendly materials, ensuring minimal impact on the environment while maintaining a sense of luxury.
Inside, the tents are elegantly furnished with king-sized or twin beds, draped with mosquito netting to ensure a restful sleep. Each tent features an en-suite bathroom with a flush toilet, double vanity sinks, and a solar-heated shower, allowing guests to enjoy modern amenities even in the heart of the wilderness. Lake Masek Tented Lodge is located in the Ndutu region of the Serengeti, making it a prime spot for game drives, especially during the calving season of the Great Migration (December to March). Unlike most areas of the Serengeti, the Ndutu region allows for night game drives, offering guests a rare opportunity to experience the park after dark. With the use of infrared spotlights, visitors can observe nocturnal animals such as leopards, aardvarks, civets, and bush babies.
For a slower-paced safari experience, guests can join guided nature walks around Lake Masek and the surrounding woodlands. These walks focus on learning about the smaller aspects of the ecosystem, such as insects, flora, and the tracks of different animals. Walking safaris also provide excellent bird-watching opportunities, as the region is home to a diverse range of raptors, waterbirds, and migratory species.
