ACCESS & LOCATION of Mara Explorer Camp
By Air
The best way to reach Mara Explorer Camp is by taking a scheduled or chartered flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to the Ol Kiombo Airstrip, which takes about 45 minutes. The camp is approximately 20 minutes by road from the airstrip.
By Road
Guests who prefer an overland journey can drive from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara, which takes around 6 hours, depending on road conditions. A 4×4 vehicle is recommended, especially during the rainy season.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT Mara Explorer Camp
Mara Explorer Camp features 10 luxurious river-facing tents, strategically positioned along the banks of the Talek River. The elevated decks provide guests with private and uninterrupted views of the river, where they can spot hippos, crocodiles, and other wildlife. Each spacious safari tent is elegantly furnished with a king-size bed or twin beds, an en-suite bathroom with a Victorian-style bathtub and an outdoor shower and a private veranda with comfortable seating and a river view.
The camp is designed to be eco-friendly, operating primarily on solar power and following strict waste management policies to minimize its environmental impact.

Great Migration Viewing
During the Great Migration season (July to October), Mara Explorer Camp provides front-row access to the Mara River crossings, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras brave crocodile-infested waters in their search for greener pastures.
Hot Air Balloon Safaris
A hot air balloon safari at sunrise is a once in a lifetime experience. Guests float over the Maasai Mara plains, witnessing incredible wildlife scenes from the sky, followed by a champagne breakfast in the wilderness.
