We’ll rise early to enjoy the morning light and first stirrings of wildlife upon the grasslands here.
After breakfast, we’ll take a final game drive through the conservancy and start our drive to Samburu Reserve.
This will be a picturesque drive over the Kenya highlands, and we’ll pass through several climate zones on our way north.
We’ll arrive at Samburu Reserve in time for lunch.

Day four: Samburu National Reserve
This reserve, though unpopular, offers some of the greatest safari experience off-beaten path. On this day, we will start our day up early for our early morning game drive.
The only permanent source of water in the reserve is The Ewaso Nyiro River which provides excellent game viewing opportunities including elephants, buffalos, lions and leopards and of course the plains’ game.
Samburu National Reserve is home to the rare northern ‘special five’ which are; the grevy zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, generuk and the beisa oryx. There are many more animals in the reserve including large elephant herds, endangered wild dogs and big cats. With our knowledgeable guide, you will be able to spot the wildlife and watch them in their natural habitats.
Samburu is not just a haven for wildlife, it’s a stunningly diverse landscape that captivates photographers, nature lovers, and adventure seekers alike. Unlike the lush savannahs of the Maasai Mara, Samburu’s scenery is defined by rugged terrain, dramatic hills, and wide open plains, creating a truly distinctive safari experience.
The park also shows off over 450 species of avian life, including kingfisher, vulture, guinea fowl, falcon, and eagle. Despite its arid appearance, Samburu offers many surprises for the safari-goer.
After the game drives, you will head back to the camp for dinner and rest.
