About Elephant Pepper Camp

This Camp is Located in

Located in the Mara North Conservancy, the heart of the Masai Mara ecosystem, Elephant Pepper Camp is the perfect base to explore the wonders of the Mara. The vast, fertile plains of the Maasai Mara boast a plethora of wildlife; with over 450 bird species and both resident and transient populations of lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe, to name a few, the plains are dense with game.

Elephant Pepper Camp is perfect for those wanting to observe the spectacle of the migration, classified among the “Seven Wonders of the World”, when, from July to November, over 1.3 million wildebeest and zebra cross from the Serengeti in search of greener pastures.

The camp’s remote location allows the stars to shine bright at night, undimmed by harsh lighting; guests enjoy the unique experience of listening to the sounds of lion, leopard, and hyena foraging and hunting while being cosseted with traditional and modern comforts such as a campfire and cozy duvets.

ACCESS & LOCATION of Elephant Pepper Camp

Elephant Pepper Camp is located in Mara North Conservancy. It’s 1 hours flight from Nairobi and 8 hours drive from Nairobi by road. Mara North Airstrip is a 30-minute drive from camp. Musiara airstrip is a 1-hour drive from camp. Both are a 45-minute to 1-hour flight from Wilson Airport.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT Elephant Pepper Camp

The 8 (4 doubles & 4 twins) spacious luxury safari tents of Elephant Pepper Camp are large, and bright and offer spacious bathroom areas. Combined with Indian Raj Campaign furniture, mixing dark wood with intricate brass fittings, the tents have a very classy and elegant feel.

The tents are set underneath a grove of fig and Elephant Pepper Trees and are spaced out to ensure privacy. From your verandah or hammock, you can watch wildlife roam on the savannah plains… All tents can fit one extra bed, to accommodate children under the age of 16 years.

ACTIVITIES AT Elephant Pepper Camp

Game Drives

Elephant Pepper Camp has open game drive vehicles. The current fleet is new, specially fitted, 4×4 Toyota Landcruisers. The vehicles are unrivaled with feature enhancements specifically designed for comfort and photography – open-sided with 3 rows of seats, photographic equipment stands, and charging sockets. Guests will share game drives unless “exclusive use of the vehicle” has been prebooked at an extra charge.

Guided Bush Walks

Take the time to leave the car behind and enjoy the small things – animal tracks, flowers, and micro-ecosystems.

Elephant Pepper Camp has experienced walking guides, together with Masai from the local area, that can take you on a delightful guided bush walk from camp – a whole new perspective of the ecosystem around you.

Bush Breakfasts, Bush Dinners and Sundowners

Take a moment to sit back, and enjoy the spectacular views, the smells, the colors, and the gentle breeze. Bush breakfasts are a chance to enjoy a full breakfast, al fresco, in the middle of the plains, surrounded by wildlife.

“Sundowners” are a safari tradition – after a day of safari; stop, and watch the spectacular sunset; traditionally with a gin and tonic in hand!

Expert Review of Elephant Pepper Camp

4.8

If you are looking for an authentic Out of Africa safari experience with exceptional service, Elephant Pepper will not disappoint. The tents offer all the luxury you need, including great showers and comfy beds, whilst keeping you close to the wildlife. Listen as the hippos pass by at night, and be woken by a troop of monkeys playing on your deck. Without exception the staff were amazing and every meals was delicious.
