The Last Wilderness
Kora National Park is also known as The Last Wilderness and is the third-largest national park in Kenya. During your safari excursion, expect to see inselbergs grace the plains, alongside stunning destinations, such as Adamson’s Falls, Grand Falls, and Kora Rapids. Best Time to Visit Kora National Park
Generally, the best period to visit Kora National Park is during its dry seasons, which are from June to October and January to February. During these times, the wildlife is easier to spot as they gather around water sources, and the park’s terrain is more accessible due to favorable weather.
Dry season – This is between June and October, and January to February. Ideal time for wildlife viewing.
Wet season – This is in the months of March to May and November to December. The best time for bird watching as migratory birds are present.
Low Season
April to June, November
This is during the long and short rainy seasons. The park is lush with greenery, but some roads may become challenging to navigate due to mud. Wildlife can be harder to spot due to dense vegetation, and visitor numbers are minimal, offering solitude.
High Season
January to March, October
The weather is drier and more suitable for game drives. Vegetation begins to thin out, making wildlife slightly easier to see. Visitor numbers are moderate, and accommodation availability is better than during peak season.
Peak Season
July to September, December
This is the dry season, when wildlife congregates around water sources, making it the best time for game viewing. The park experiences the highest number of visitors, so accommodations may need to be booked in advance. The weather is also more comfortable, with warm days and cooler nights.
