- Foreign Residents: USD $40 per adult per day.
- Kenyan Citizens: KES 1,000 per adult per day.

Best Time to Visit Shaba National Reserve

Dry Seasons (June to September and January to February)

These are the best months for wildlife viewing, as animals congregate around the river and waterholes.

Wet Seasons (October to May)

Some areas may be difficult to access due to heavy rains. However, this is a good time for birdwatching, as migratory birds arrive.

How to get to Shaba National Reserve

By Road

Shaba National Reserve is about 314 kilometers from Nairobi, a drive of approximately 6-7 hours via Isiolo. The road is mostly paved, but the final stretch may require a 4×4 vehicle, especially during the rainy season.

By Air

There are charter flights from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to nearby airstrips such as Samburu, Buffalo Springs, or Shaba airstrip.
