Loisaba Conservancy- Laikipia, Kenya is a 56,000-acre wildlife conservancy and working ranch located in Kenya’s Northern Laikipia. An unspoiled wilderness destination, Loisaba is a private conservancy in the wilds of Laikipia, offering seclusion amongst two rivers and abundant springs. Which is the Best Time to Visit Loisaba Conservancy – Laikipia

Loisaba Conservancy- Laikipia, Kenya borders the major Lewa Conservancy and Ol Pejeta Conservancy. It’s rich in wildlife, especially the endangered black rhinos. Spot the big five such as the Lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

Road access is good, but not during the rainy season. They get wet and soaked. It’s accessible only when it’s dry.

Low Season

April to June

Known as the green season, is when the long rains in Kenya start, and lodges and camps in this region are hard to access. Therefore, they all close down, and most of them take advantage to renovate them as they await the peak season from July to October.

November to Dec

The short rains start this time, and they rain till the end of Dec at times. Not a good time to visit Lewa Conservancy since the roads get messy during this time.

High Season

January – March

This season is the best since the conservancy is hot, and after the short rains in December. The Conservancy gets lush green and attracts a lot of wildlife, and makes it easier to spot wildlife since the grass is not that tall, but green.

Peak Season

July to October

It’s the busiest and most loved season. Known as the peak season, when visitors all over the world visit Kenya for the summer season and holidays. The Season starts with the cold month of July and gets hot in Aug to Oct. Short rains in Kenya start between October and December.

By Road

Loisaba Conservancy is located approximately 375 km from Nairobi and can be reached by road via Nanyuki. The journey takes around 6 to 7 hours, depending on road conditions. From Nairobi, you’ll travel along the highway to Nanyuki, then continue on a well-maintained dirt road to Loisaba. A 4×4 vehicle is recommended, particularly during the rainy season, as some sections can become challenging.

By Air

Daily scheduled flights are available from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to the Loisaba Airstrip, which is located within the conservancy. The flight takes about 1.5 hours.
