The journey includes thrilling chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest, game drives across Kasenyi Plains, and a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel filled with hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife.

It continues through the Ishasha Sector in search of tree-climbing lions before culminating in the unforgettable experience of gorilla trekking in Bwindi.

Safari Itinerary - Day by Day

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe Airport - Entebbe Hotel (Approx. 10 -30 mins drive)

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met and warmly welcomed by our meet-and-greet representative, who will assist you with immigration formalities.

Afterwards, youтАЩll be introduced to your driver-guide, who will transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe for an overnight stay on a bed-and-breakfast basis.

Day 2: Depart for Kibale Forest National Park (Approx. 6- 7hrs drive)

The drive from Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park is a fascinating trip through Uganda’s different landscapes.

You start in Entebbe, which is by Lake Victoria, and then the surroundings change from a busy town to peaceful, green countryside.

Along the way, youтАЩll see the rolling hills, and big tea farms.

The trip takes about 6 hours and shows off UgandaтАЩs beautiful scenery, ending in the thick, tropical forest of Kibale, which is famous for its rich wildlife and lively environment.

Kibale Forest National Park is a home to 13 primate species including the common MansтАЩ closest Cousins (Chimpanzees).

The Forest is also a home to over 325 bird species including the rare Green Breasted Pitta.┬а

Arrive at your Lodge in the afternoon.┬а

After Lunch Relax at the Lodge, you may also opt for another opportunity to enjoy the wildlife through a 4.5Km nature walk at Bigodi wetland run by KAFRED a community-based organization, several bird species over 200 have been identified on this trail including Turacos, Kingfishers among other birds.

Over 8 primates have been identified including the LтАЩhoest Monkey, red colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, Velvet Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, Olive Baboon, black & white colobus monkeys and the Grey Cheeked Mangabey.

You have an option to either enjoy the nature walk or go for a community walk around Bigodi.

Gorilla Trekking

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Chimp tracking in Kibale Forest National Park is an exciting and memorable adventure.

You start early in the morning with a knowledgeable guide and walk into the thick rainforest, looking for signs of chimpanzees.

The trek can be tough as you go through dense plants and rough ground.

The guide will help you find the chimps, who are lively and fun to watch.

When you spot them, you can see how they eat, play, and interact up close.

ItтАЩs a special chance to learn about their lives and behavior, making the experience unforgettable for anyone who loves nature and wildlife.┬а

You will return to your lodge for lunch, then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of UgandaтАЩs premier wildlife destinations, renowned for its remarkable biodiversity.

The Park boasts over 600 bird species and a wide variety of mammals, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and many more. En route, stop at the Equator in Kasese before continuing your journey to the park.┬а

In the evening head out for an exciting game drive in search of wildlife such as lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs, waterbucks, and bushbucks.

Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay on a Full Board basis

Kibale Forest National Park

Destination:

Day 4: Game drive and Boat ride along the Kazinga channel

After early morning breakfast at your lodge тАУ you will drive to Kasenyi plains for your game drive.

The plains are home to a wide variety of animals, including African elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, waterbucks, warthogs, and topi.

Predators such as lions and leopards are also commonly spotted, especially early in the morning or late in the evening.

The Plains are also rich in birdlife, with species such as eagles, vultures, storks, and various grassland species.

After the game drive you will return to your lodge for Lunch, after lunch embark on a boat cruise along Kazinga Channel for another opportunity to encounter wildlife.

The cruise typically last about 2 hours and depart from the main jetty near Mweya Safari Lodge.

During a boat cruise expect to see elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, and other animals coming to the waterтАЩs edge to drink.

The slow-paced boat cruises allow ample time for photography.

You can capture close-up shots of hippos, crocodiles basking in the sun, and birds in flight.

Day 5: Ishasha Sector and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park (Approx. 5hrs drive)

Enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before departing from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its rich biodiversity and for hosting more than half of the worldтАЩs remaining mountain gorillas.

The scenic drive takes you through the rolling hills of southwestern Uganda, dotted with tea plantations and traditional villages, offering a beautiful glimpse into the rural countryside.

En route, enjoy a game drive through the Ishasha Sector, famous for its unique population of tree-climbing lions, often seen lounging in the branches of giant fig trees.

Keep an eye out for other wildlife such as elephants, topis, and buffaloes that roam freely across the open savannah. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Gorilla tracking offers a thrilling and unforgettable experience that commences early in the morning.

With your packed lunch depart your lodge and head to the park headquarters for a comprehensive briefing and gorilla family allocations.

Due to the physical demands of gorilla tracking, maintaining good health and fitness is strongly recommended.

Appropriate attire, including sturdy hiking boots, long pants, and long-sleeved shirts, is essential for protection against insects and dense vegetation encountered along the trek.

We also recommend hiring porters to assist you on the trek.

The journey into the forest typically traverses challenging terrain, ranging from dense undergrowth to steep slopes.

The duration of the trek varies considerably based on the location of the specific gorilla group, ranging anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours.

Upon locating the gorilla group, visitors are treated to an enchanting hour observing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.

Experienced guides ensure a safe viewing distance while offering valuable insights into gorilla behavior and ongoing conservation efforts.

Following this extraordinary encounter, you will trek back to the starting point and head back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for the Gorilla Trek.┬а

Uganda Primate Safari

Day 7: Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park (Approx. 4hrs drive)

After your morning early breakfast, you will be driven to Lake Mburo National Park which is UgandaтАЩs smallest National Park.

The journey will take you through stunning sceneries and views of the Ankole Kingdom with animal farms and different crop plantations.

Arrive in time for Lunch at your Lodge in Lake Mburo.

In the afternoon, enjoy a rewarding game drive through Lake Mburo National Park.

Keep an eye out for Hippos, Buffalos, and a variety of other wildlife.

The Park is famously known for hosting the largest population of Zebras in Uganda.

You may also encounter Impalas, Oribis, and the recently introduced Giraffes relocated from Murchison Falls, along with an impressive diversity of bird species.

Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Full Board.

Lake Mburo National Park in Uganda

Day 8: Lake Mburo National Park to Bwindi Forest National Park

After breakfast, set out for a guided safari walk in Lake Mburo National Park.

This unique experience offers an opportunity to encounter wildlife on foot, including Impalas, Zebras, Oribi, Topi, Elands, and many other species that inhabit the park.

Lake Mburo is one of the few savannah parks in Uganda where guided nature walks offer sightings comparable to a game drive.

The Park is also home to over 300 bird species, making it a remarkable destination for bird enthusiasts.┬а

You will continue with your journey to Entebbe with a stopover at the equator for lunch.┬а
