Discover Hells Gate National Park
Known for its iconic scenery, Hell’s Gate National Park is a remarkable quarter of the Great Rift Valley, filled with towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, rock towers, and volcanoes. Easily accessible on a day trip from Nairobi, Hell’s Gate is one of the most atmospheric parks in Africa, offering an alternative safari experience.
Named after a narrow break in the cliffs, within the park’s borders lies the Olkaria Geothermal Station, the first of its kind in Africa. The power station makes use of the vast land that used to be home to the now-extinct OlKoria volcano, whose lava still flows beneath the park.
Highly anticipated on a visit to the park is the gorge walk, where you will encounter all the landmarks Hell’s Gate is known for. The gorge runs through the heart of the park, between the deep valley edged in corroded rock walls. View zebras, giraffes, and warthogs, whilst experiencing Fischer’s Tower and the Central Tower.
Ideal for hiking, cycling, rock climbing, and game drives, Cheetah Safaris can offer excellent excursions across the distinctive land.
