Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Nanyuki Laikipia is Located between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 364 km² wildlife conservancy that hosts an abundance of spectacular game. Ol pejeta Conservancy – Nanyuki Laikipia borders the major Lewa Conservancy. It’s rich in wildlife especially the endangered black rhinos. Spot the big five such as the Lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Also, have a chance to spot the Chimps that get great care here.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy Roads access is quite good and well managed. It’s accessible throughout the year.

Low Season

April to June

Known as the green season, is when the long rains in Kenya starts, and lodges and camps in this region are hard to access. Therefore they all close down and most of them take advantage to renovate them as they await the peak season from July to October.

High Season

January to March

This season is the best since the conservancy is hot and after short rains in December. The Conservancy gets lush green and attracts a lot of wildlife, and makes it easier to spot wildlife since the grass is not that tall, but green.

November to Dec

The short rains start this time and they rain till the end of Dec at times. Not so good time to visit Lewa Conservancy since the roads get messy during this time.

Peak Season

July to October

Its the busiest and most loved season. Known as the peak season, where visitors all over the world visit Kenya for summer seasons and holidays. The Season starts with the cold month of July and gets hot in Aug to Oct. Short rains in Kenya start between Oct to Dec.

By Road

Ol Pejeta Conservancy is located in Laikipia County, Kenya, approximately 200 km from Nairobi. The journey by road takes about 3.5 to 4 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Travelers can take the A2 highway from Nairobi through Thika, Karatina, and Nanyuki, then proceed to the conservancy via a well-maintained all-weather road.

By Air

Visitors can also opt for domestic flights to nearby airstrips:

Nanyuki Airstrip – The closest airstrip, located about 45 minutes from Ol Pejeta. Scheduled flights from Wilson Airport in Nairobi take approximately 35 to 45 minutes.
Kamok Airstrip – A private airstrip within Ol Pejeta, primarily for chartered flights.
