Customized and Tailored African Safari Packages

What Makes Our African Safari Tours Exceptional?

Customized and tailor-made safaris in Africa provide an opportunity to customize oneтАЩs safari experience as opposed to strict group safaris.

The customized itinerary gives travelers the chance to select their own choice of popular safari destinations in Africa and luxury accommodation based on their budget.

A customized safari enables travelers to tweak a sample itinerary template to incorporate private guided tours and selected safari activities.

Tailored safaris are tailor-made safaris that give travelers the chance to craft special photographic safaris and luxury honeymoon safaris.

The exclusive safaris in Africa allow travelers to dictate their pace and ensure there is flexibility in the tour program.

They are perfect for family safaris since they combine adventure, comfort, and safety.

State-of-the-art all-inclusive safaris benefit from the expertise of local experts to deliver the best tours in Africa with all-inclusive safaris across Africa.

What are the Key Steps to Designing Your Custom African Safari?

  • Begin by determining your main purpose in visiting Africa, whether it is for the purpose of seeing the Big Five or watching the famous Great Migration that takes place in Kenya and Tanzania.
  • Choose your preferred destination, where you either go to East Africa for its open savannas, Southern Africa for its luxury camps, or Central Africa for its gorillas.
  • Decide on your choice of accommodation, which could be anything from luxurious camps and tents to economical accommodations.
  • Consider your choice of mode of transportation, whether you want to travel using your own private 4×4 safari vehicles or light planes.
  • Complete your vacation plan by booking through experienced safari tour companies that can customize your trip, arrange for your visas, and incorporate child-friendly activities into your itinerary.

What is the Best Time to Plan Your Exclusive African Safari?

The ideal time for a safari in Africa is typically during the dry season from June to October because it presents the best conditions to spot wildlife when vegetation becomes sparse, and water sources become scarce.

If you wish to experience the Great Migration in East Africa, then it would be a good idea to plan your trip during the dry season to view the spectacular animal crossings and huge numbers of animals on migration.

However, those interested in affordable safaris and low crowds can consider the shoulder season months of May and November.

The wet green season from November to April is best for photography safari tours due to the lush scenery and colorful skies.

Ultimately, your exclusive safari plans depend on personal interests; whether it is predators that you are after in the dry season or young animals in the green season.

What are the best African Safari Planning Tips to Note?

  • Ensure that you book your accommodation well ahead of time to make sure that you get access to special times during the year, like the Great Migration and the best times for seeing wildlife.
  • Prefer private conservancies over national parks so that you can experience exclusive perks like off-road driving, night game drives, and a lot less traffic from other tourists.
  • Create a definite budget early enough since safaris in Africa can range from as $750 a night per person in standard camps to more than $2,500 in top-end luxury accommodations.
  • Check the exact visa regulations that will apply to each location because many countries in Southern Africa insist on having at least two pages left in your passport.

When is the best time to go on safari in Africa?

The best time to go on an African safari is usually during the dry season, which is from May to October. It is during this time that animals congregate around water sources, hence being easily spotted. June to October is best for an East Africa safari (Kenya/Tanzania) and a Southern Africa safari.

The top destinations for an African safari include Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa, and Botswana. These countries provide the most iconic wildlife, the Great Migration, and varied landscapes. The top destinations include the Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Masai Mara National Reserve, Kruger National Park, and Okavango Delta. These destinations provide the most luxurious Big Five experiences.

An African safari typically costs between $800 and $1,500+ per person per day for an average safari experience, with most travelers spending around $1,000-$4,500 per day for a quality, mid-range experience. While for a luxury safari, it can cost between $3,000 and $5,500+ per person per day.

The best time to go on a luxury safari in Kenya is during the dry season from July to October, focusing on the Great Migration in the Masai Mara. For other exclusive and uncrowded luxury Kenya safaris, January to March is an excellent choice, with great game viewing, excellent weather, and intense predator action, and be awed by the snow peak Kilimanjaro Mountain in Amboseli.

Pack neutral-colored clothing in layers, such as khaki, green, or brown, to blend in with the surroundings. Also, bring a warm fleece jacket in case of chilly mornings, a light rain jacket, and comfortable walking shoes with closed toes. The essentials include a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars, a camera with spare memory cards, and a power bank.

There are strict restrictions on luggage on an African safari, and the total luggage per person is usually restricted to 15kg (33 lbs) or less, including carry-on luggage, especially on regional light aircraft. Soft-sided luggage without wheels is a must to fit the small plane or safari vehicle cargo pods. Laundry facilities are readily available, and casual layer-type clothing is recommended.

Yes, you can absolutely travel to Africa for a safari, both as a solo traveler and as a family. As a solo traveler, you can enjoy a guided safari experience and exclusive lodges, while families can enjoy child-friendly lodges, private vehicles, and malaria-free zones, making it a safe and flexible experience for all.

The 4×4 pop-up roof vehicle refers to a rugged safari vehicle, most commonly a Toyota Land Cruiser, which is fitted with a roof section that can pop up to allow the guests in the vehicle to stand upright to enjoy game viewing. The vehicle is used for game viewing off-road, allowing 360-degree views, panoramic views for photography, and protection from rain, sun, and protruding tree branches and bushes.

Some of the important documents to carry during an African safari include a valid passport that should be valid for at least 6 months and should have 2 to 4+ blank pages, visas (which can be done online via e-visa), a Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate (where required), and travel insurance. It is recommended to carry physical and electronic copies of your visa and ID.

For an African safari, it is best to book for 12 to 14 days to strike a balance between the variety of wildlife to see and the comfort of the trip, visiting 2-3 different parks or reserves.

It is highly recommended to book your African safari 6 to 12 months in advance for most trips. In fact, for travel during the peak season (June to October), during the peak of the migration, and for stays in some of the smaller luxury lodges, it is recommended to book 12 to 18 months in advance to ensure your desired travel dates and destinations.

An African safari package would normally include accommodation, meals (full board), airport transfer services, guide services, 4×4 game drives, and entry fees to national parks. They would normally be comprehensive, including transport to and from different destinations, bottled water, and drinks at the lodge.

The major difference between a lodge and a tented camp is that a lodge is a permanent structure with solid walls, like a hotel, while a tented camp consists of luxurious and large canvas tents, which may even have ensuite bathrooms, to give a more “intimate and closer to nature” experience. Lodges offer more luxury and facilities like a swimming pool, etc., while a tented camp offers a more authentic experience.
