Discover Borana Conservancy
Borana Conservancy lies at the foot of Mount Kenya, displaying 35,000 acres of land with stunning views and immense wildlife. Mount Kenya poses a beautiful backdrop for the conservancy, with views of the mountains’ snow-capped peaks to the south, and a landscape of mountains and desert
to the north.
Created To Preserve Critical Habitats
A haven for a wide diversity of wildlife, the Borana Conservancy is a non-profit conservation organization dedicated to the sustainable conservation of critical habitats and wildlife. Amid the beautiful hillside, the iconic African wildlife grace the conservancy habitat, including elephants,
giraffes, lions, leopards, hyenas, and many more.
Forming Kenya’s Biggest Black Rhino Sanctuary
In 2014, Borana and the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy removed the fence that separated the two conservancies to form the largest black rhino sanctuary in Kenya. The ecosystem is also home to the endangered Grevy’s zebras, which have undergone a substantial reduction in the number of African mammals over recent decades.
Working with local communities and other partners, the conservancy can maintain a sustainable ecosystem for tourists to visit and wildlife to live.

Best Time to Visit Borana Conservancy
Borana Conservancy – Laikipia is one of the biggest conservancies among the many in Masai Mara. It’s rich in wildlife, spot the big five such as the Lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Best place to stay to view Wildebeest Migration and Wildlife in exclusivity.
The Conservancy is fairly not in good condition during the rainy season, due to heavy rains, lodges and camps tend to close this time as they renovate their properties.
Low Season
April to June
Known as the green season, the long rains in Kenya start, and lodges and camps in this region are hard to access. Therefore they all close down and most of them take advantage to renovate them as they await the peak season from July to October. But some are open for fly-in guests who want to stay for a long time on exclusive safaris.
High Season
January – March
This season is the best since the conservancy is hot and after short rains in December. The Conservancy gets lush green and attracts a lot of wildlife, and makes it easier to spot wildlife since the grass is not that tall, but green.
November to Dec
The short rains start this time and they rain till the end of Dec at times. It’s a fair good time to visit Enonkishu Conservancy – Masai Mara for a short or long stay when offers are available.
Peak Season
July to October
It’s the busiest and most loved season. Known as the peak season, visitors worldwide visit Kenya for the summer season and holidays. The Season starts with the cold month of July and gets hot in Aug to Oct. Short rains in Kenya start between October and December. It’s the best time to visit the conservancy for the Wildebeest Migration, though it gets crowded.
